Before the Tsunami Occurs, Tourists Originally Attend Carita, See Krakatau Eruption

Topik id. Pandeglang - Sadeli (34), a resident of Sukarame, Carita had enjoyed the sight of the Anak Krakatau eruption before the tsunami arrived on the shoreline. That night, Saturday (12/22) the mountain in the Sunda Strait did indeed look red and on top there was also a full moon.

He said that the child of Mount Krakatau was clearly visible when the weather was sunny. Sometimes during an eruption, people usually watch the incandescent fire from Krakatau. Plus the post for monitoring the volcano is indeed in the neighboring village Pasauran.

That night, before the tsunami came, he was right on the beach at Pondok Ceri, Carita. There are around dozens of tourists who are also enjoying the beach. But according to him, suddenly suspicious waves came. The water goes to the mainland.

"The Krakatoa child is visible when its red night (its eruption). That night I sat on the beach, after that there was a wave that heard a roar and immediately ran away," Sadeli said while talking to AFP, Carita, Pandeglang on Monday (12/24/2018) .

Knowing that the water was getting tighter, he ran away to save himself using two-wheeled vehicles. Other tourists on the beach were also asked to find a safe location in the hills.

"Immediately jump straight into the motorbike while telling the people to go up the hill immediately," he explained.
