Sweeping the Tsunami, Tanjung Lesung Requires 6 Months to Recover

siaran Nasional. Jakarta - PT Jababeka Tbk estimates that Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will recover for 6 months. As is known, some buildings in the area were damaged by the Sunda Strait tsunami.

"If possible, everything to be neatly rebuilt may need 6 months. But we continue to wake up slowly," said PT Jababeka Tbk CEO and Founder Setyono Djuandi Darmono at a press conference at the Batavia Tower on Monday (12/24/2018).

Tanjung Lesung SEZ itself is managed by a subsidiary of Jababeka, PT Banten West Java. He said, in the region there were around 250 hotel rooms where, as many as 30% of the buildings were damaged.

He said, due to the damage, at least the company suffered a loss of Rp 150 billion. But, the loss has been covered by insurance.

"It is estimated that losses are currently happening at Tanjung Lesung, and equipment and compensation for families and employees," he continued.

He explained, the tsunami would have an impact on the decline in the number of visitors at Tanjung Lesung. However, he did not explain in detail. According to Darmono, Tanjung Lesung will still get a visit, especially by experts.

"And like this it cannot be expected that the old visitors will dare to come again for how many times, and the rainy season," he said.

"We are still looking for different visitors, want to learn about earthquakes, want to help the earthquake and so on," he concluded.
